1. What DigsHub is
DigsHub is a marketplace that connects students with student accommodation in South Africa. We help students discover listings, apply to landlords, talk to current residents, and leave reviews. DigsHub is not a party to any lease — the rental agreement is between the student and the landlord.
2. Who can use it
You must be 18 or older. Students are encouraged to register with a South African university email (.ac.za) to be verified. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you post.
3. Reviews & reputation
Only students with a recorded residency at a place may review it. Reviews must be honest and based on real experience. Landlords may review students; this builds a portable reputation visible to the student and to landlords they apply to. We may remove content that is false, defamatory, or abusive.
4. Messaging
The “ask a resident” feature is for genuine questions about accommodation. Spam, harassment, or sharing others' personal information is prohibited and may result in removal.
5. Listings
Landlords are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their listings. A “verified” badge means we reviewed submitted documents; it is not a guarantee. Always inspect a place and read the lease before paying anything.
6. No payments through DigsHub (for now)
DigsHub does not currently process rent or deposits. Never send money to anyone you have not verified. Be cautious of anyone asking for payment before you have seen a place.
7. Liability
DigsHub is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by South African law, we are not liable for disputes, losses, or damages arising between students and landlords.
